All out of love: Song Lyrics

I'm lying alone with my head on the phone
Thinking of you till it hurts
I know you hurt too but what else can we do
Tormented and torn apart
I wish I could carry your smile and my heart
For times when my life feels so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know

Chorus:
I 'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I 'm all out of love, what am I without you
I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong

I want you to come back and carry me home
Away from this long lonely nights
I'm reaching for you, are you feeling it too
Does the feeling seem oh so right
And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that I can't hold on
There's no easy way, it gets harder each day
Please love me or I'll be gone, I'll be gone

Chorus

Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?

Chorus(3x)

Enviorment

In the 70’s there was a big environmental movement going on. Many nongovernmental groups (NGOs) were forming as well as bills and acts being past to help environment. A few of these NGOs were Friends of The Everglades, Sierra Club, and Planet Drum Foundation. Acts that were passed in the 70s were the Clean Air Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, and Federal Water Pollution Control Act. Though all of the intentions of the acts passed to save environment were good they caused some economic problems to arise. Such as some the car industries were losing business because they couldn’t meet demands of Clean Air Act due to lack of technology or money causing a revision in act. Other acts and bills passed were revised so it would not cause as much problems.

Goverment

In this decade, America comes out of a time of political unrest, decline and failure. A government under siege by its people at home and cornered by political rivals abroad, it seems that the government fails at every turn. It must shuffle from dealing with foreign affairs and keeping the Cold War stagnant while keeping the public’s support which continued to deteriorate throughout the 70’s.
The public’s loss of faith in their government was a key theme for this decade. The government suffers as it finds it harder and harder to keep hold of their supports. At the same time leaders and parties experiment with their positions, their image and their strategies as they attempt to win back the public.

Education

With the Civil Rights Movement ending only 2 years before the 70s came to a start, America was still reeling for the turbulence it caused. As with the equality now given to all school's during this time, started to integrate black with white. This was a revolutionary time in Education. There are accounts of black children being brought to school guarded by police because of the controversy it caused. Not only was the U.S. facing problems with bringing union but due to color differences but even more problems occurred due to the Vietnam war. With a separated country, of course there was separation in schools. With anti-war protests taking places during school and on campus; arose 4 deaths at Ohio State University and supreme court case. The education system was on rocky shores.

Social Controversies

The 1970s was a great decade where every single conversation fully played a role in the lives of Americans. One of the more prominent conversations was the one dealing with social controversies.  During the early seventies there was as major conflict in which a semi-big disagreement was sparked. On April 30, 1970 President Nixon publicized that U.S. troops had invaded Cambodia to clear out Vietnamese and Vietcong supply centers. When college student, across the country, heard this announcement they began to protest. On May forth disaster hit Kent State University in Ohio, where there was a massive student protest. The protest got a little out of hand and the National Guard was called in.  The National Guard fired live ammunition to the protesters crowd and that day four people were killed.
Also, during this time the First gay march occurred. Creig Rodwell organized the Christopher Street Liberation Day. The march, held in New York on June 28, 1970, was the first gay pride march in the U.S., covering 51 blocks from Christopher Street to Central Park. Today, LGBT pride parades are held annually in multiple cities and countries throughout the world. The month of June is widely considered Gay Pride Month.

Gang Violence

In Los Angeles of 1970 there was a beginning for a group that is even well known today. The group

that at first was considered a club is now a gang called the Crips. They are a gang of mostly African

Americans who represent L.A with the color blue. Now they are all around the United States but still

representing the west coast. Do to that another group and now a gang as well organized in order to

create an influence against the Crips. Their names are the Bloods, which represent Compton with the

color red. These gangs have affected the United States as their growth keeps increasing and so do the

wars between these two.

Science and Technology

Science and Technology in the 1970 was an era where space exploration and modern technology was barely flourishing. Back then we had space shuttles send from Earth to the moon and Mars. We might not know it, but those pictures taken then, are the pictures we see in our history books, posters, and in the internet.Since man when up on the moon, we have been developing even more machinery for space exploration. We have searched for different material that make up the planet, taken pictures or them, calculating it's size and distance from us, we have even been searching life on other planets. All the modern technology companies from now, such as Apple, and Microsoft were developed in this time period. Back then though, they developed machines that can do open an application many times slower than running an application on our modern laptops/computers. Apple developed its first computer, which consisted of no screen and it's shape was huge, and now apple computers have these nice and thin screens. They are very convenient to today's "techy" person. The only thing that hasn't changed throughout these years is our mission, to better the lifestyle of Earth's citizens, humans.

Star Wars (Economy)

On May 20, 1977, Variety set the tone by stating: "Star Wars is a magnificent film. Star Wars opening day totaled $254,309 from just 32 theaters. Its first weekend box-office gross equaled $1.5 million. By the end of its first theatrical run, Star Wars was the most successful film in North American history with more than $307.2 million. Lucas' (the creator of the film) cut from the box office was more than $50 million. Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi) negotiated for 2.5% of net profits, which eventually earned the actor over $6 million.
